I recently picked up this Rachel Rachel Roy dress from Macy's for $129 and paired it with a black JCrew cardi and a pair of American Vintage for 9 West ankle boots. Fun, sassy and comfortable.

Getting Gifty

Because I always had terrible Christmas' growing up (no presents/terrible presents/horrific parents) I always look forward to the holiday season because I know that my loved one AKA Jon will get me something that I wouldn't normally buy for myself. Kate Spade Holiday

I have always wanted to love Kate Spade (though I will admit her dragonfly pattern is my wedding china and I love the Larabee dot crystal - also our crystal). I ended up on KateSpade.com and wow - I was bowled over by some truly great pieces - dresses and costume jewelry and eyewear not to mention some great gift items like make up bags.  Note to self, get to the Kate Spade shop in Pioneer Place this week.

I love all of these dresses - the price point is above what I would feel comfortable paying for a Kate Spade dress by say $100. I am not sure what my mental block is regarding Kate Spade's price point on apparel but every one of the below is something that I could imagine mixing into my wardrobe- and the styling is superb! Maybe I need to get over it.

Cinema Weekend

Three movies my household will be seeing this weekend.  Jon will take Max to see the Muppets (which I am sad to miss) and I will escort him and his friend Tilly to Happy Feet 2. I am very much looking forward to "My Week With Marilyn" with some friends.

We are spending the day with friends we have shared Thanksgiving with the past two years.  Looking forward to conversation, delicious food and family fun (we bought Star Wars operation for the kids!)

When To Retire Something You Love?

For the past four years I have loved a pair of Jeffrey Campbell t-strap Mary Jane's that I wear alot.  I have had them repaired numerous times (I think I paid $100 for the shoes and have invested another $100 over the past few years). Yesterday it was torrential rain (like 6 inches) and was wearing these shoes. After wearing them outside for 10 minutes my feet were soaked and I realized that they are falling apart, again.

Do I take them back to shoe repair for one final attempt at having some extra mileage from them, or do I throw them away?

Versace x H&M: The Recap

On Saturday I woke up before the crack of dawn to line up for the Versace for H&M launch.  I am not a Versace girl, but there were a few pieces that piqued my interest. I met my friend Malia at 6AM (it took awhile to get out of bed) and like the Lanvin launch I was early in the 2nd wave (about 40 people in).  Sadly during the first wave almost all the stock was snatched up - it was like the infamous Chanel sample sales in the early 2000's. People were spending 5K, 3K - it was ridiculous. I ended up with two pairs of underpants and three t-shirts for my hairdresser and I walked away with nothing for myself. There are now 12,000 items on eBay - a percentage from them from Portland. No one is bidding however, so I assume in the next 28 days there will be an influx of stock, from returns.

Hit Like A Ton Of Bricks

Sorry for the sporadic posts - with the season changing, I have been feeling a bit down, anti-social and physically sick. Right now I am on the couch watching one of the many shows that I have stacked up on my DVR - a Law & Order UK from a few weeks back.   I am looking forward to the Thanksgiving beak. I am not sure what it is about this time of year that creates anxiety but I am hoping that getting some rest today will help.

Cat Crazy

It seems like everywhere I go I am seeing spots - on clothes and accessories that is. The Giambattista Valli line for Macy's was leopard print crazy and now JCrew is hopping on the trend with a hot A-line dress wth hidden pockets and a gorgeous silk long sleeve top - these two new great pieces (I must admit I indulged in both - I love a good "cat print").

Falling into Fall

The weather is getting colder and part of me can't believe how quickly this year has flown by.  As I start counting the days until 2012 I am going to really push myself with getting fit by the end of the year - if I can escape the extra calories of the Vanilla Roiboos soy lattes at Starbucks.
