Denim
I have been searching for new jeans for forever. The problem is I rarely wear jeans - normally on dress down day Friday at work. Tonight I stopped by JCrew with my friend Jen (who was looking for boots). I tried on the high waisted skinny jeans. I loved them - soft, a size smaller than I normally wear and a decent price. I think they would look great slightly rolled up with a great blazer. I shall be returning tomorrow to try them on again.

eBay Finds
Recently I have been on a bit of a replacement spree - I was lucky enough to buy the iKat dress I loved so much in a larger size from Moya, won the Bibi that I was coveting on eBay and also snag a limited edition Sakura in the paradiso black and white print. I also re-invested in a Reiko in Marigold which I sold ages ago and was happy to find again.
Here is hoping to finding some more exciting things.

Missoni Hysteria
Today I finally made it back to one of Portland's 8 Target's to return the Missoni note pads and the pillow that I picked up last week. I was suprised to find the following things that had been mass returned that included:
- Two black and white chevron print suitcases ($169)
- Travel make up cases/vanity bags ($24.99-$29.99) - I did buy one
- A selection of shoes - both heels, flats and rain boots (I tried the flats on again and they were just too
cheaply made to consider actually purchasing)
- Bedding - at least two sets
- Laptop cases
- Black and white carry on bags ($40)
- Neck pillows for travel
There was some clothing as well, but nothing on covet list - and no cardigans. I spoke with the woman at the return counter and she told me that people have been coming in daily to return the items that they listed on eBay that did not sell. Fingers crossed that any of the following pop up:
- Black and white women's cardigan
- Men's space dyed cardigan in a small
- Blanket (any color)
- Martini glasses
- Melamine serving plate
Still hoping that my real order gets fulfilled.

A Message From Target...
This morning I awoke to the following email - though rumour has it that now all the online orders that were cancelled will be fulfilled. Here's to hopefully enjoying my Missoni blanket VERY soon.
hello Marti,
We’re sorry to disappoint you. We have a team looking into this for us and they’re investigating options for guests with cancelled orders. If we’re able to offer partial orders, replacements or other options, we’ll call or email you in the next week.
The Missoni for Target collection has been incredibly popular and a number of the items sold out quickly; the unprecedented demand also impacted our Target.com site and some guest orders.
We are working hard to address affected orders and will email updates or changes to order status, as they become available or give us a call back at this number 1-800-591-3869 for further assistance.
Sincerely,
Rose

Mayle, Purge
A few items that I have decided to sell let me know if you are interested - photos to come later.
1. Mayle Dandy Dress (holiday 2005) - I recently acquired one in a different size. This one has been worn maybe 5 times at most. Mint condition. Size 6.
2. Mayle Federica Dress in black with contrasting lace. Size 4. I never wear this dress, and its a shame to just have it sit around. MINT condition.
3. Green silk halterneck top with brown contrasting lace (spring 2004) - I recently found this in a lager size. Mine is a 4, mint condition
Email me if your interested!

Everyone In Brocade!
I went to J Crew on Tuesday before a meeting to return a necklace and walked out with this little number for $40 more dollars. I wore it yesterday and it fits quite well - I got a 6. It has hidden pockets - always a plus!

Missoni x Target Frustration
This morning I woke up at 4:30 to "shop" the Missoni for Target collection (and be prepared to check out at 5AM per the time they promoted). I logged on, selected the blanket and two cardigans and was able to check out. I received an email telling me that I would be charged once my items shipped. I then realized that I forgot two additional things I wanted - the sweater coat and some towels. I went back, put them in my cart and the site proceeded to crash.
One would think with a launch this big - possibly their biggest launch ever that they as a major e-commerce retailer would be more prepared. After trying for about 15 minutes at 5AM to purchase said towels and coat I went back to bed - angry, frustrated and mostly disappointed. It's 8AM now and I see the site is still down.
I plan on hitting Target at lunch, but Portland is a weird town - either everything will be sold out or thee will be lots of everything. I will report back later.

Forever in Blue Jeans

I succumbed on Fashion Night Out and picked up two of the new Chanel "denim" inspired nail colours. I went for the two darker blues (as photographed on the ends) Blue Rebel and Blue Boy. Coco Blue as dreamy as it is just scream tabloid celeb/Lindsay Lohan to me.
Labels:
Chanel Blue Boy,
Chanel Blue Revel,
Chanel Coco Blue
Mayle Purging
I have decided not to be precious. I cant hold onto something in hopes that I lose weight. I give myself a good 5 pounds to fluctuate with now.... I will be doing some hardcore cleaning and letting go shortly.

Friday.
After a long (short week) I have found myself sick (sore throat + fever) and crawled into bed. I think I am in dire need of a vacation - I have been burning the candle at both ends for way too long.

40's Diva
I just received an email from Net-A-Porter announcing the new Miu Miu collection. Of course I like the dress that is $4100.
Versace x H&M
I have never been a huge fan of Versace - I loved the short lived cosmetics line that was sold in the 5th Ave boutique back in 1999/2000 and in my life I have only ever owned one item (a top from Versus that was a bit punk). I am not sure what it is about this image of Abbey Lee Kershaw but it makes me feel like waking up at 6AM in November to stand in line for some really bananas Versace pieces at H&M
Laboring After Labor Day
Summer has FINALLY arrived in Portland. It's going to be in the 90's all week - just when I started getting excited about wearing fall clothes (my new leopard trench, busting out some tights from Fogal and Wolford) the Mother Nature is playing tricks. This past weekend I started a purge. I think I have realized that wow, I really am not going to lose that weight. I may be lucky enough to not gain a pound every year if I stay true to trying to eat cleaner. So I am purging a few things, stalking a few things on eBay and giving serious thought to the Isabel Marant Vertilla dress in the burgundy floral print. I figure for every five things I get rid of I can get one new item right?

Mayle For Sale (Part 1 of my Closet Cleaning)
I am doing a closet clean out for many reasons -
1. There are things I just haven't worn or used (handbag wise) in over a year
2. There are things that simply do not fit
my 3rd and final reason for which I am super embarrassed? They are "what was I thinking" items.
The Mayle items that I am parting with are few and far between and some I am still contemplating whether to let them go. I will start with the following two. If your interested please email me as I will also be putting them on eBay and I hate those pesky fees.
Mayle Coco Bag from the Final Pop Up (October 2010)
This bag retailed for $295. Its never been used and its the great black and gold metallic. A spattering of sequins are dropped through the fabric to catch the light and cast a beautiful glow of gold. Removable strap, top zipper, magnetic closure for fold over. This is a REALLY great bag. I just simply do not use it. Thinking $150 + shipping (but let me know your offer)
The second Mayle item that I am selling is the wildly popular Hannae cami from the spring 2005 collection. Its in excellent condition, with all its original buttons. Its a bit wrinkled (and could use a dry cleaning which I am happy to provide) Size 2. I hate parting with this, but it just doesn't fit. It's a pretty rare find (which is why I held onto it for so long). Measures as follows:
Bust 34 inches
Length: 22 inches

Living Large With Lagerfeld
Yesterday I took a longer lunch (and it was my last day as a freelancer before joining the staff today) to go to Macy's with my co-workers Maryn and Jen to check out the hotly anticipated Karl Lagerfeld for Macy's collection. Some thoughts - the collection REALLY channels the 80's and 90's. The fabrics are decent (similar to the Matthew Williamson but much nicer).
I picked up a floral dress and a t-shirt with a self-portrait of the Kaiser's mug.
The collection was limited dowtown, so when I went home I ordered another top that I thought might be cute and a second dress that was very Chanel but also very Lagerfeld collection.
I will report back more when I receive the new pieces but wouldn't this amazing new Chanel "Boy Cappel"look divine with them?
